Australia-based contemporary land artist James Tapscott creates site-specific immersive works that fuse simple materials and aesthetics with localized natural phenomena and light. Tapscott often create experiences that can be more than visual and speaks to nature’s harmony with the viewers. The site determines the idea, the idea then determines the materials and methodology.
Inspired by beach grasses along the dunes of Chelsea beach, Pluma captures the relaxed freedom they embody and brings that energy to Chelsea Station. The tips of each stalk glow with a subtle shimmer by night, shifting colour around sunset and sunrise.
