About This Project

“Beginning from a small marquette of a hand holding a bird, this sculpture has become somewhat of a totem for me. This totem represents the environment and speaks of a message about humanity’s connection to the space around them. As a sculptor, I approach each work individually to create a piece of art that those who view the sculpture can enjoy for many years to come. My sculptures are always a work in progress, one that evolves within its own environment. I hope that the work brings the community a sense of serenity and can stay close to people’s hearts; a work that reminds the viewer to take the time, to sit, to look and to think” – Mike Nicholls 2015
