Drawing on the physical splendour of the stone pine trees in Tote Park, Pineal Loop strives to make visitors more aware and engaged with their surroundings by drawing our attention to the craggly texture of the bark and spectacular canopy above.
The circular arch recalls a slice of one of the trees while acting as a gateway to the park. With a slightly reflective stainless steel surface and internal lighting, the strong yet simple form has such a presence without dominating a space, making it the perfect aesthetic to compliment the trees so they remain the heroes of the site. The internal lighting is animated with subtle movement and other effects which reflect the energy of the site i.e. at busy times of the evening it pulsates and moves dynamically, and then relaxes into the later night.
