About This Project

“Old New Neighbour” by Jenna Lee, commissioned by Banco Group, is a 6m x 9m digital image on rope track banner, and explores the native flora surrounding the building. Various photographs of the plants that grow were collected to create a time-specific archive of the area’s ecology. The images on the banner have gone through a process to be transformed and altered to create reversed, monotone silhouettes to represent the ghosts of the environment pre-colonisation, while simultaneously remaining to celebrate the ecology that has survived.

Drawing on personal connections, it is also where Jenna has called home and found belonging after first moving to the area three years ago.
